Fractions

In this game I had to divide, subtract, add and multiply fractions. The part that was really hard was multiplying fractions because it was hard multiplying big numbers with bigger numbers fast. The easiest part  for this game was adding fractions. What I would like to learn next is to learn new easier strategies for multiplying fractions.

Need:

A3 paper

Scissors

Tape

Compos

protractor

Pencil

Ruler

Method:

Step 1: Draw two parallel lines in the edge of your paper using a ruler.

Step 2 mark 8cm in your line marking a dot.

Step 3: mark a 90 degree angle using a protractor on each of your dots and then join the dots   together to make a square.

Step 4: mark a  dot for the point of the triangle and draw a line from dot to dot.

Step 5: draw an arc from the point of square and then connect it with the with the other points.

Step 6: cut out your drawing and shape it like a triangle.

Hieroglyphics:

1: There were about 700 symbols of hieroglyphics.

2: Only 1 percent of Ancient Egyptian population could read hieroglyphics.

3: Only sons of wealthy people could read or study hieroglyphics.

4: Hieroglyphics were written in tombs of dead people for their after death.

5: The word hieroglyphics in Greek means sacred carving.

Scribes:

1: Scribes used a tool called kalamos which they used it as a pen.

2: Scribes wrote while standing or kneeling until 2000 BC when they begun to use desks.

3:  Documents were only written in black or red by scribes.

Papyrus:

1: Papyrus was made of papyrus plants

2: Papyrus was grown in abundance along the nile river.

3: Before papyrus paper Egyptians used to write on stones and clay.

Pyramid game

In this game you had to add cards to make 13. I found this really easy because I knew how to add numbers to make 13. The most stressful part was when you were nearly getting to the next level and you had no moves left.

WALT: answer three question

1: Who is the most important one?

It depends on the circumstance you are. Like if you see someone hurt the most important person is the one that is hurt.

2: What is the right thing to do:

The right thing to do depends on your situation. For example if I see someone get bullied the best thing to do is tell an adult or teacher.   

3: what is the best time to do things.

I think the best time to do things is right now (present) because you may not have tomorrow so take your opportunity right now..

Dabir the Donkey

Dabir the Donkey

Dabir’s master stopped the donkey when they arrived at the step pyramid and tied the rope around Debri loosely. Dabir waited and waited patiently for his master after a while he got bored and the rope loosely came off. He walked around the pyramid aside from the tourist and a beehive he didn't see anything.

So he walked to the beehive and watch the bees  but Dabir got bored and started to kicking a rock around. He kicked it hard and harder, he kicked it so hard it flew and hit the bee hive. The bees flew into  the air and flew to stung Dabir. Dabir got scared and started running around the pyramid. On the tenth run he stopped because he was tired.

After a while Dabir went to play with the camels and the camels got annoyed so the tried chasing him but dabir thought they were playing with him. Dabir  ran in the step of the pyramid when he was tired he had a rest and he stopped for a while then he saw crocodiles and wanted to play with them. The crocodiles got annoyed and started chasing Dabir, Dabir ran around the pyramid 5 times.

Dabir was tired so he went to the place where his left him and drank water. When his master came he pulled the rope at it to start going but Dabir was too tired. His master pulled harder. Dabir stood up and ran with his master behind him calling angry names at him. The bees, camels and crocodile laughed as they watch them running.

coordinates

 In these games I was learning about coordinates. Coordinates are a set of values that show an exact position. You always start with the x which is the first number which is in the horizontal line and y is the vertical line. I didn't find any of the games hard because I remembered what I was taught in the past few years.

Netball

WALT: use our emotions to describe playing a sport.

               

                                                 Netball

On Tuesday G.I fantails played netball. It was a critical game because it was our first game and winning would really boost our morale. We versed St. Mary’s red.  I was nervous at the beginning because it was the first time I was playing  competitive netball. I played in the second half and I was really glad because then I could see how well St Mary’s red played. I was delighted when our team scored 9 points and St. Mary scored no points in the first half.

In the second half I was WD. When I saw my opponent I felt really pleased because I had a really short opponent. During the game I found out what her name was because when ever somebody wanted to pass the ball to her they shouted “Ella!” and it just made my job easier because I knew when to defend her. I played better than I thought I would so that was brilliant even though my legs were like jelly.

I think my team played  a spectacular game because at the end we had 13 points and St Mary’s had no points. I can't wait to play the next game next Tuesday.

Converting decimals and fraction

In this games I had to convert decimals and percentages. The most difficult thing to do was to find out what the fractions of one hundred was. I think this game was a good challenge for me because I forgot some of the rules and things Mrs Ramkalawan taught me.  

Isis and Ra

Isis and Ra

Isis and Ra are an ancient Egyptian Myth. Ra had powers to create everything that existed by saying a magic word and Isis, a clever god gifted in the arts of magic. Isis envied for Ra’s power she really wanted to know what the secret word was. Whenever Ra drooled Isis collect Ra’s drole and mixed it with soil and created a serpent. The serpent stung Ra when he went passed it.Soon, Ra began to burn with the serpent's venom and discovered he had no control over it. Isis was the only one who could save Ra from death. Isis insisted she could cure Ra but only if he revealed his secret Great Name. Ra offered a variety of nicknames, but Isis was not fooled. Fearing for his life, Ra finally gave in. That is how Isis successfully learned the secret of Ra's all-powerful magic. I learned that stories with gods in them are myths.

Island of paradise

WALT: write a creative story in paragraphs

                       Island of paradise

If I had a Island I would like it to be in the atlantic oceans where its hot. I want to have lots of people on my Island.

In my island I would have lots of shopping malls like sylvia park so I could buy new clothes every day. My shopping malls would have the latest clothes and everything would be free. There would be only robots working in the mall.  One quarter of the shopping mall would be supermarkets filled with junk food.

My house would be a mansion made of  diamonds and gold. The size of my mansion would be bigger than Queen Elizabeths so all my family and friends and also my favorite celebrities can live with me. Inside my mansion I would have a olympic size swimming pool with warm water and a theater. Every room would have the best quality furniture. In my room I would have a King x2 size bed with the walls made of diamonds and also the original mona lisa painting on the wall.

I would have a private disneyland right across my mansion so everytime I get bored I could just walk across the street to disneyland. Beside disney world I would like Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory but instead called Saleha’s chocolate factory so I could have all the chocolate in the world.

I wish this would become reality in 15-20 years when I get a good job.
